BIOASTRONAUTICS AND LIFE SUPPORT SYSTEMS
Student Project Team at the University of Michigan
ABOUT
BLiSS is a student organization devoted to studying permanent human habitation in space and being the premier student group at Michigan researching human spaceflight. Since 2015, all BLiSS projects, including 13 X-Hab projects, have focused on deep space habitation and life supporting technology. More importantly, BLiSS engages a multi-disciplinary team of students with a passion for the advancement of space exploration.
This year, NASA has awarded BLiSS the "Rack and Stack" contract for the 2024-2025 X-Hab cycle. The Rack and Stack team will focus on creating a unique storage system for equipment, suited for in-space, lunar, and martian environments. BLiSS is also continuing their development of a Volatile Organic Compound deposition system intended to integrate into the current air revitalization systems in space.
